I used to own cats years ago, but now have 3 shih tzu's and a maltese, supplemented by an eclectus parrot and a quaker parrot... All wonderful companions... I still like cats, but they don't mix well with parrots... photos of the pets are at home... if I can remember I will try and post a few tomorrow.

I have two cats and one minature dachshund. The cats stay outside where they can patrol the perimeter of the house. Glad to say we have not had any intruders (mice) since I put them to work outside. They have been doing such a good job that I think I will give them a John S. raise in pay. The dog on the other hand is still learning to earn his keep. He still is wet behind the ears. He just turned 3 months. Although those teeth are pretty sharp. All are cute, none ugly.

After my divorce 11 years ago, I got this
guy when he was a kitten and raised him up.
He doesn't get to go outside but anything that
crawls into the house is toast.

Ed, I have found that alot of cat haters don't like them because they can't be controlled. As you say,"independent". Does she know there's a hair ball on the chair?

Greg , Nice looking Siamese. One of my favorites, but they'er alittle nuts. Ron

Adopted this little guy. He needed a home, girls needed a pet and I needed a mouser. I love Labrador Retrievers and have never been a cat person but he has really grown on all of us. Malcolm is shown here on guard or just looking at birds through the window. He certainly adds a bunch to our lives.

Ron,
Thanks for the kind word on my siamese. He is a little high strung at times but a real good pet. I like your buddy Bart. He looks like he would be a good companion. 110 pounds?!! You must have raised him on t-bones.

Thor,
Great photo! He looks young, I'll bet he is a handfull.

Hugh,
This is a great picture too. That doesn't look very comforable to me but if it wasn't, I don't guess he or she would do that.

Ok, I guess I am the exception to the rule; I DO have a CAT, in fact TWO, yes, one is my wife's, Lady Belle, the Bengal, but the Snoshoe Siamese, Magic-Man, is mine. Had dogs as a kid, just family pets. These are #14 & 15 in a long line of CATS.

John,

What's with parrots and cats don't mix? My stepdaughter had a macaw. It told the cats when to jump and they asked, "How high?"

Wes, Thank you for thinking of me...I appreciate your generous offer but I am afraid I have no use for such a thing as I know what to do with a dead cat. Bury it lovingly in a casket made with my own hands and mourn for years.
I had a beautiful Siamese for 16 years that died of lieukemia. She was a faithfull friend and companion, loved me dearly and I her. If God had given me the choice of her death or any other being on the planet I would gladly would have chosen you, or most any other human. I don't know you well enough to trade your life for hers but I would have done so without a moments hesitation. I still cannot think of her without becoming emotional at her untimely death. My Father hated cats and I always thought that someone who could hate cats had something psyhchologically wrong with them.
So thanks but no thanks, Jerry Burney

He crys like a baby when you take away his stuffed animals... but we claim him as ours... gott'a love a dog like this!! He's named Panzer cuz he act's like a tank... he just goes & goes... when he runs into things he just ignores the impact, and keeps on going.... chip off the old block... best to all, til...lat'r...GT

GT, Nice looking Boxer. My best friend had one when I was a kid. He was the same way. Knocked me flat on A** a couple of times. They'er neat dogs.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad this thread got started. You can tell alot about people by their pets and how they feel about them.

Guys, One of mime is part boxer. His eyes closed. Took out my baseboard. One woof and a jump took out the most expensive structrual element of my good nights sleep! I now have to sleep on splinters. The wife makes make the bed over the damage. I keep it together. Now I have to find matching...

I have also met G.T.'s Panzer... he is a heck of a sweet dog... it is only his size that is intimidating...

GTs place is second to none! He and Carol are quite the gracious hosts! Tazzie had a big time with my two little girls. She fetched like a Lab over and over and over. Panzer just slobbered on me and I petted the big boxer, he loved the attention! Those boxers were a kick! We had a great time there! GT took me to a local grocery and said "Ya like steaks??" oh yeah I said!! He picked out several of the biggest porterhouse steaks I have every seen for our consumption! OUTSTANDING!!!!!
