Default 1900 Commercial Luger

1900 Commercial Luger, serial number 4160. Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Michael.
Beautiful example. Lots (relatively speaking) of 1900 American Eagles around but it is difficult to find a 1900 Commercial in the US. It is really interesting to see an overlap in features in these early pieces. I would not expect #4160 to have a Type I thumb safety, and yet I have seen other pieces that late that also have the Type I. My 1900 Commercial is serial number 3453 and it has a Type II as do others with serial numbers lower than yours. Makes it hard to nail down the transition.

An extremely handsome piece of machinery!

Very nice indeed. I recently joined the 1900 club myself.

Cogratulations, it's really a nice gun, are the grips original? My only doubt is the type of thumb safety on such a high serial number; for instance I've got a commercial Swiss with that sort of safety but has got the s/n 763 (thin button frame 1st series 1st variation)
