Artillery Luger Value?
There is a guy over at Subguns.com who has a great looking artillery that he wants a value on. His handle is Hawk and I just left him a message to visit here for assistance. Check out the photo at the link below.
Here is his description so far: What is a 98% 1917 DWM artillery luger all matching with holster, matched stock, and snail drum worth? One guy has offered him $4000 already... It looks authentic from the fuzzy picture and if it isn't a fake, it probably is worth that and maybe more keep an eye out for his post. -John Subguns post URL http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...675&p=40230786 |

Re: Artillery Luger Value?
John,
I did a little checking and a phone call to get a value. This pistol in the condition described would/should retail in the $4,000 range without the snail drum mag. The mag alone would retail in the $900 range so the full value of this rig in my opinion would be around $5,000. If it was for sale, and I HAD the money to buy, I would pay $5,000 for this rig. It is very rare to find an all matching rig like this one, so it may be worth a little more, but I feel $5,000 would be a good estimate. Marvin |

Thanks Marvin, I guess he hasn't seen my post yet.
But I agree with your value assessment. The snail drums have been selling around $1000 in ordinary shape. Even though the picture is a little fuzzy, it looks like it is in excellent condition. What a find! Hopefully it is all original. Wish I had the cash too...

Artillery Luger Value ~ Another Country Heard From
John,
If you look at each Item separately you would get Luger $2000 Stock $500 Holster $500 Snail $900 Total $3900 Now put the stock matching serial numbers on top and I think $4000 to $4500 would be a fair price. If everything matched, then the price would go higher. |

Re: Artillery Luger Value Not a Fake
I finally got here. The gun is not a fake, all matching and in very good to excellent condition. Never been messed with. Stock numbered to gun. Snail drum is second model in excellent shape. Thanks to all. Don't know what I'll do with it yet. Hawk.

Re: Artillery Luger Value Not a Fake
Is the rig missing the two cell magazine pouch? This was worn on the strap which is missing, but wondered if it was with the rig? Does it have the matching spare magazine.

The spare mag pouch and strap were not with the rig when it came to me. Hawk

Re: Artillery Luger Value Not a Fake
It´s not a v.g. picture - but it doesn´t seem to be a fake. Detailed photos would show more on strawing and general condition. You´d need a loading tool for the snail drum as it cannot be used without one. Patrick
