Post .45 Luger Questions...?

Heard today the following info. regarding .45 lugers, and am testing this info. on the Forum to see if I heard this correctly :

1. Both model # 1's and model # 2's are thought to exist.

2. Model # 1 (which includes the US Test Trial guns, serials # 1 and # 2) have the more severely angled grip angle and were in .45 ACP caliber.

3. Model # 2 (all possible .45's after the US Test Trials) have a less severe grip angle (grip angle appears more vertical) and were chambered for a cartridge called " FA .406", and were not .45 ACP chambered.

Has anyone else heard of this ? <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

The US trials 45 Lugers were chambered for the 45 Luger cartridge, using a DWM case and Frankford Arsenal bullets. While not exactly a 45 ACP it is close enough for the pistol to function using 45 ACP cartridges.

Can't answer your other questions.

#1 was supposidly destroyed in the test. Since it no longer exits I cannot comment on the grip angle. I have seen and held #2 and would say that the grip angle looks and feels like a Luger frame designed for the heavier cartridge.
