Default Luger mag-newly made?

I have a friend who picked this up for very cheap, so he isn't out much money, but what are your opinions on this. I think it is modern made, but don't see enough to not know for sure if this is an odd ball original or not. The metal bottom is a greyish color, there is no WaA markes, the number on the side is weird to me, and the bottom and pin look screwey. Thanks in advance for any info you may provide.

This mag is manufactured by the DDR in the 50s and the bottom is made with zinc/aluminium.
The stamp 2/1001 is used for the VOPO luger : the Volkspolizei reissue lot of capture luger

1001 is the manufacturer's code for the former Haenel plant that continued to produce the mags for DDR police and army service. They also produced a Walther PP clone called the 'Pistole 1001'.

The magazine base usually made of a pot metal material and there are generally speaking pretty functional magazines.

The magazine pictured in a 1966 DDR Weapons manual:
