Erfurt 1912-unit marking
I have been offered to buy an ERFURT 1912. It has number 506x.The barrel has only the serial number marking, no other. Is it rebarreled? The magazine is a Schmeisser-Haenel with number matching the gun. And another number, 906 in the front of the magazine bottom. In front of the grip is stamped, O.P.M. 906. The trigger is renumbered from 91 to 6x. On top of the triggerplate i what I think is called a Schiwy-Sicherung. I wonder if anybody of you know what unit used this gun and has it been rebuild at a time? Can anybody estimate how much is it worth?

Hi Wally,
You have a police rework of an Erfurt military. These guns are all over the board price-wise, with the determining characteristic being, as always, condition. Police reworks are not that highly sought but they are interesting to some folks. In 95% or so condition, I see guns similar to yours going for $675-800 or so in NoVA. I believe the markings translate to Ordnungs Polezi Munchen, pistol # whatever. Hope this helps, Tom A. |

Walley, I agree with Tom A. that your Erfurt was reworked (sear safety and new barrel) for the Munich police. Unsually, there will be some sort of proof on the barrel to incidate who did the rework (TP, Simson, etc.). Tom H.
