I have to say that this 'problem' has been on my mind for almost a year now triggered by noticeably increasing lapses in memory accompanied by periods of confusion.
In my case some of this is caused by medications I must take to relieve chronic pain from an accident in 2005 much like Thor's accident.

Some of it however has to be attributed to 'old age' ... its part of the life cycle and no one gets a pass.

This brings up the question of where will my beloved Luger's end up (no pun intended). My family members are not likely to want to put forth the effort required to 'adopt' these guns.

At one point I selfishly thought 'just take them with you' but depleting the world of these fine works of genius is not the answer.

The quandary continues.

Thanks Mark for this most enlightened thread.

Just a quick update. It was over 11 days ago that I Emailed Phoenix Investment Arms and Simpson's Ltd. The other two responded in a day. Jerry said Tom at Phoenix had just had back surgery. So as of today I never got a response from Phoenix Inv. Arms or Simpson's Ltd. Point is you may have to call as well as Email to get a response. I realize all of these firms get a lot of inquiries, but that is their business.

I look at Legacy, pre98 and Simpsons daily. Phoenix- never. There have been so many adverse comments about them- I'll pass.

I purchased exactly one Luger from Phoenix. Biggest mistake of my collecting career. Hiding under the white grease pencil was the worse fake marking I've come across.

I've never had occasion to buy from Scotty at pre98, but I have been very happy with both Simpson and Legacy.
