Hugh's Grips

I just received two sets of grip from Hugh Clark and must share their beauty! The first set are on a 70'ish Mauser. Hugh sanded them down and recheckered in a border pattern. The end result really makes the gun.

The second set are Europeon Walnut from Nill-Griff that Hugh bordered checked. They're on my Thor reworked Artillery.

Two great shooters made better by two artists!

Those are real beauties. Hugh also reworked a set of aftermarket grips that I had bought. As purchased, they were blocky and oversized. After Hugh did his thing they are like brand new originals or better. Also his service and price were unbeatable.

Thanks again Hugh for fixing up my grips.

Now we know why there aren't many Artillerys around. If I owned guns that looked that good I'd take them to my grave, I can see it now, arms crossed on my chest with one of those Lugers in each hand. I read somewhere that Frank Sinatra was buried with a few of his favorite firearms. Bet one or more were Lugers.

Do you shoot your 1970's Mauser-Interarms ?

I bought a NIB and decided to shoot mine, can't wait for each next time I am at the range... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

Pete, I bought mine NIB, but as a shooter. When I saw it I had major debate with myself because it looked so great. The shooter in me finally won out, and it shoots great. The orginal grips had a little bite to them, but no more thanks to Hugh's work. Hope you have the same experience.

Hello Jim,

Yes, the orginal grips on my 1971 Mauser-Interarms swiss-style lguer in 9 mm with 6" bbl was as rough as a wood working rasp I have in my shop.

Hugh's magic sure took care of that ! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

It is nice to see my gun now has a twin brother...

And yes; I just left my gun on the table for nearly one month before I had the nerve to take her out shooting...I know others thought I should leave it NIB for future collector value, but I wanted a "brand new" luger for my shooter...
