Default Fiocchi 30 Luger ammo

My Luger is on it's way to my home and I need something to feed it. Is Fiocchi ammo good stuff for my 30 Luger? It is loaded with a 93gr. FMJ bullet. Thank you

Guys, if you are really interested there are one or two really long threads with info on the Fiocchi .30 luger ammo- either here or the other luger forum.

Long story short, Fiocchi has changed their loading over the years, sometimes the color of the box, which can be grey, purple, or black, can be a clue. Ammo can be PSP or ball, it does not matter as to the load/performance.

I have boxes of the most recent black box ammo that are different in performance. One lot works well, the other will not- these are round soft point ammo(both good and bad).

You cannot be sure it works until you fire it in your luger, so don't be surprised if your mileage varies due to differences in Fiocchi loadings.

In MY Lugers, the Fiocchi 30 Luger ammo seems to work just fine. Every Luger is a unique weapon, so trial and error will tell you what you need to know. I stick with the FMJ and not the JSP ammo. Hopefully the Fiocchi will work well for you, as it is reasonable in price and available......give it a try.

Obviously there is more information in the threads mentioned (which I've read in looking at the issue for myself), but since I rarely have anything useful to add here being new to Luger ownership, I'll mention that my 1920 alphabet in 7.65 will not cycle with any Fiocchi ammo I've tried (which admittedly is just the FMJ and the softnose in black boxes.)

For my 7.65 Luger, Fiocchi ammo makes it a single shot firearm. I use PPU 7.65, which works perfectly. It has a noticeably harder recoil than the Fiocchi. Unfortunately, my local gun stores stock Fiocchi only, so I have to order PPU online.

Not a Fiocchi fan. In any caliber.
