Best Repro Artillery Holster
Hello folks. Thank you for this post.
I'm about to purchase a DWM 1918 Artillery Luger with original military and commercial holsters but no stock, tool or rod. I posted a pic of these on the Artillery forum. Who makes the best repro set up? I've seen the ones from IMA. What do you think? Thank you very much. |

I believe Sarco has the best price on a repro rig with stock.
I would not use the holster for carrying the pistol, or put it inside- as they are rough and will wear your nice 1918 even more. But for an example and as a "rig" to attach with stock to the pistol for "authentic" type shooting practice, it is fine. You can pay more- but get essentially the same thing. Stock lugs may require fitting on any repro, though if yo get lucky it might fit right up.

If me, you already have an original holster etc, I'd look around and purchase original

Thank you Edward. Yes, as I will have the original military holster. Finding the original wooden stock, tool, rod, strap and mag pouch exceed over a grand.

The best repro artillery stock was made by or marketed by Odin International. They still show up for sale on ebay and gunbroker. Good repro holsters are fairly common.

I understand your concern about spending that kind of money but it's not really spent. Invested..you will get it returned at a later date when you sell. Just a thought.

But still, just buy a $100 repro stock, send stock and your holster to Jerry to add his hand made leather pieces and straps, and you have the best of both worlds at a reasonable price. JMHO.
