FN GP (HP) 1935
Hi all,
A friend of mine has a FN HP, 9mm, s/n 880711g. I am unable to locate this s/n range in Anthony Vanderlindens' book (The Belgian Browning Pistols); and neither in Jan C. Stills' Axis Pistols book (both state s/n from no-suffix into the a and b ranges, but a g range? All other stampings match (WaA140 on slide, barrel, frame) Thanks! Emiel VDH |

Correction, the sn should read 88071g.

E.,
* My guess is the S/N is 88071a. The "a" is a small lower case letter. * A single close-up picture of your friend's S/N's on the right side frame/receiver/barrel might confirm my theory. * The WaA140 accepted WWII FN HP's are well known over the entire "a" block. * Probably an Oct. or Nov., 1943 assembled HP. Respectfully, Bob |

Bob, yes!
After carefully looking (with a magnifying glass) we could clearly see the correct suffix. Thanks for the help. Emiel |
