Default Reloading 30 Luger Powder Tube

I have a Dillon RL1100 Progressive Press. I am currently reloading for 30 Lugar, 7.65X21 with an old RCBS Rockchucker single stage press. I would like to speed up the process by using the Dillon. I cannot find a powder drop tube that will work with the Dillon Powder measurer. Will a powder drop tube for .223 work or does anyone have a suggestion?
P.S I am brand new to your forum and a first time Luger owner, fabulous gun!
Thanks!

I have reloaded a "ton" of 30 Luger brass with my Dillon press,......but it is a 650 model. I have never owned, or used a model 1100. Have you contacted Dillon here in Phoenix Az. They are great people to deal with, and very helpful. Just a thought.

Yes I did, it was the first thing I did in an attempt to locate a proper powder tube. They told me that they did not make a drop tube for the 30 Luger.
When you use your Dillon, what drop tube do you use?

The 650 press uses the drop tube that came with the 30 Luger conversion kit. I have no idea if it is also used in other caliber conversions or not. Obviously it is the correct size to just enter the re-sized 30 Luger brass neck and deliver the powder charge. I have no idea just what setup the 1100 press utilizes. Sorry I can't be more help.

Interesting, a phone call to Dillon about the 30m Luger and I was told that there is no conversion kit for the 30 Luger. I will have to call somebody who knows what they are talking about.

Thanks for your help!!

Bob,

The Dillon 650 conversion kit is for "30 Luger-30 Mauser" #21107. I hope this will help.

You're probably looking for the Dillon powder funnel # 12845, for a .32 handgun.

I do not think a case mouth expansion of .32 is good for a .30 case.

The powder funnel is most likely (I don't have one to measure, but I will soon) made for a bullet in the .312" diameter or so. Which is close to what .30 Luger projectiles would be.

It may require some polishing-down, or a quick trip onto a lathe, but it could be made to work.

When it comes to loading the .30 Luger, some modifications and adjustments are to be expected.

.32 ACP = 7.65 x 17, .30 Luger = 7.65 x 21, so you should be fine.

I finally got someone at Dillon who knows their business. The proper part is #12845 for .32 handgun. I have loaded for the 30 Luger on a RCBS, single stage, 55 Yr. old press,
a Rockchucker, but I wanted to speed up the process. The drop tube is on the way.
Thanks for everybody's help!!
