Any comments on the appropriateness of the D-rings pictured above?

Don, they don't look original to me, but rather like they were added by some owner during the service life of the this rig...

Don,
* Agree with John..."D" rings added. The belt loop stitching and location looks original to me. *I suspect these "D" rings are split rather than a completely closed ring. Should be able to find out by rotating the ring to get a look at the straight portion of the ring hidden underneath the leather loop. If split, the metal rod of the ring can be opened up with a couple of pliers, like any other master chain link, and removed from the leather loop without damage to the holster or stitching. Voila, the PT would be back to original again. *Of course, if you find a German 3 letter maker's code, an RZM, or Herman Goering's seal impressed into the metal "D" rings....forget everything I've said. * I actually think the "D" rings could serve well to suspend the holster during safe or wall display storage. A thin dowel of wood or a roll of bubble wrap placed thru the rings would give a handy hook bar without placing undo tension on the leather belt loop stitching. * Just a thought. Anyone see anything I'm missing?? Bob |

The rings are split with no intriguing marks. I'll probably keep them to perhaps mount the holster. Thanks to all for the input.
