Default Need help identifying a true K/M luger!!

Gents, need a little help here. Questioning a 1940 Mauser 42 Baltic Sea Navy Rig

I'm looking at 42 code 1940 Kriegsmarine Luger. It has an "O" an and number and a front strap. It's mag is numbered to the weapon, but for some reason isn't a navy mag. The is no "Eagle/M" that I'm so used to seeing. Just want to make sure it's a genuine KM, before I start selling my WWII collection in order to afford this one piece....

1) Is that in normal that it's labeled on front,, not back strap - not to mention the non-existant E/M?,
and the non-KM marked MATCHING mag?

2) - What is this Luger rig worth?? Please take a look at the pics:

Thanks!!

I assume that you have Jan Still's 3rd Reich Lugers?

Here is one link on Jan's board;

Value depends on if you want to spend that much. There are some navy lugers out in the market right...

Hi Gene,
Some questions......
Why is there an overstamp on the mag serial #?
Why don't they show a picture of the second mag bottom?
Where are the detail photos of the holster?....the holster is a very important part of this rig.
That is a lot of money, I would make sure everything is 100% correct!!!
Good Luck,
Jason

Hi Gene, The E/M was discontinued some time in 1935. Without singling out this particular seller, you should be aware that KM Lugers are a popular target for fakers, all it takes to add $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 in value are a few pantographed marks. Regards, Norm

Gents, thank you for your help!

I'm new to KM Lugers, having collected several non-Luger KM pistols, along with a Black Widow, dont have the 3rd Reich Lugers book yet.will certainly purchase it soon enough!

Jan Still has completed a new edition of "3rd Reich Lugers". It is in final production (due out in a few months?). It will have new info and updates. Buying his books new is the most economical way to get them... unlike most other things!

no, he said he is about 85% done with it, it will not be out for at least 6-8 months is my guess....
