Default Second Crown Jewel

This one is *almost* as pretty as my other presentation HK.

It was a gift to Gauleiter Joseph "Sepp" Bruckel who was in charge of Gau Westmark-From Koln southward through Wurtenberg and the Pfalz to Kaiserslautern.

The Gauleiter, in summer 1944, was over heard making defeatest comments and was reported to the black Mercedes boys (Gestapo).

Sepp came down with a sudden case of natural causes and was given a state funeral.

This gun and most of his other personal effects were stashed by his driver and remained "in the woodwork" for many years.

Hello Tom A.

That sure was not my intention.

Just found some interesting information that pertained to the thread.

Very sorry.

Tom,

Very nice find.

A guy on this forum has a signed letter by the same gauleiter:

That's for trashing your leather case thread, I guess?

Don't sweat the trashing! Thanks very much; I have contacted the party that owns the letter to inquire if he would like to sell it.

Default It's depressing thinking about having things this beautiful

I get depressed thinking about what happens to stunning art like this when you die. I have a daughter that is clueless and a wife that doesn't like firearms. Collecting books and pictures suffices as a result. Damn these are nice though. Try not to worry about who gets them when you kick though. I crack myself up sometimes, sorry I can't help it.

I've never seen anything done that exquisitely. I saw some pretty nice engraved and inlaid presentation pistols at the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum in Los Angeles a few years ago, but I can't remember anything that detailed!

I'm unable to open/enlarge the thumb nails at the bottom of your post.

Tom,

Fantastic piece. Known history and all. Beautiful pistol and those grip panels are....aahhh I don't have the words.

Would'nt it have been fun to have met the craftsman who created this work.

I'm happy for you Tom, nice catch!!

Hate sounding like a broken record, broken record, broken record...

Is anyone else having the same trouble that I have trying to open the small "thumb-nails" located below the bottom of that large photo?

They're labeled "Attached Images."

I sure would like to see them in greater detail.

Thanks in advance,

Dave in Nashville
