I guess it's wonderful, but honestly it just leaves me cold.

Maybe if I saw it "in the flesh"...but I don't think so.

No Idea as the asking price, but I would be curious as to the serial number. The one in Gibson's book, if memory serves me correctly since my book is not at my temporary location, is #16999 and was presented to Herman Goering... It is the only one I have ever known about. Perhaps John D. could give us some info since Krieghoff's are his area of expertise...

How about it John D. ???

It would also be nice if the picture was good enough to make out the text on the side of the Luger. You can see it says something. But what???

Thanks Pete... I haven't looked at detail in Gibson's book lately as we are in different places. I do recall now that there was one additional Luger of this type that was presented to a Doctor in one of my Luger references, but I am working from memory...

TomA,
the documentation says that they at asking in the six figures (to protect the privacy of the buyer). I doubt that the six figures included the cents. Personally, I prefer to look at JohnD's pictures of Kreighoffs. I consider them the 'real' HK's. And JohnD also includes some great and interesting write-up about the HK that he is analyzing.

Hmmmmm...

I'll be interested to see what this goes for...?? If it has the right provenance, I believe I know what this same HK sold for last time.

We'll see....

And thanks Big Norm!!! While my HKs may not have all the engraving as the one listed in this thread, it's a pretty complete "set"... I enjoy sharing and assisting when I can, to those who want to share in what I can offer, help with and add to their knowledge.

My thanks for posting that - it more appreciated than you may know..!

John
