And what, pray tell, makes these Luftwaffe pistols?

These is nothing in the photo that would indicate any branch of service.

If I'm not mistaken this picture was part of alarger group, showing Luftwaffe soldiers training with those guns. Unfortunately is another example of how break down groups can destroy its story.

Doug, you are correct, sir! However, it's when you're shelling out the old hard-earned for a pistol that you buy the pistol, not the story. What's for sale here is the the story, with a pic to go along with it! They say that extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence. This is more believable than "Nazi Officers in SS Death Squad Take a Break from Pistol Practice"; maybe analogous to the difference between a claim that ham sandwiches were served for lunch, and the same claim, but that they were enjoyed with the Queen of England. It's one thing to reasonably and conditionally) consider such a story truthful, and another to bet the rest of one's collection on a red herring.

I just checked, and with an hour to go, it's up to about 27 bucks. More than I'd pay, or anyone who copied its .jpeg to hard drive. The other knucklehead bidder ignored the starting price of $5 and opened at a dollar less. But this is moot.

I posted for the benefit of those of us who enjoy seeing pics of Lugers--the more, the better; and this one is of a whole table full! I suppose there's not enough detail to pick out a Kreighoff or two... Perhaps this post would not have gone over like a stool sample in the punch bowl if I'd posted in off-topic section. Moderators, please move it if you think I've mis-posted.
