Default "SS LUGER"

Thanks to all who took the time to reply to my questions on the SS marked luger. You saved me a pile of money, it just looked so cool that I had lost all common sense !

I always wonder whether the seller knows he is selling a luger with no proof of the origin of the odd markings it has. Is he hoping to fool a novice to make $500? Is he just passing on the story that was told him and has no idea of its veracity?

Congratulations on avoiding a luger that is probably not what it seems to be.

Johnny, be VERY carefull of anything that is reported to be issued SS equipment, especially helmets. Know what your buying, ask a lot of questions of the seller or other collectors.

Default Re: "rest of the story'

Yesterday there was a radio program about Walt Disney and his business of fabricating German Equiptment right after WW2. Apparently he and a cohort fabricated this stuff and sold it to rear eschelon troops on their way home. This was on Paul Harvey and the rest of the story. As joe says, ''caveat emptor'' or somthing like that. Jerry
