Simson Magazine comparison
This is interesting, a small grouping, but interesting. Here are 6 magazines, one is obviously a blued body, and incorrect, although the base (660) I think is okay.
A friend of mine bought a Simson magazine, was told it was in exc shape, but upon viewing it, there were enough differences to warrant a closer look. I told him that I had 5 or 6 Simson magazines, most of them accurate, and here is the comparison. Can you tell which one I had doubts on? 8045 is a police rework, although the eagle looks pretty good. They are all in the same order, although I took the blued body one out for side shots. Ed |

I think you had doubts about 4448. Now the reasons you had and the reasons I had might be diifferent, but I'd pick that one as the questionable one. Off center serial number, a "+" that looks hand scribed and not stamped, the difference in depths of the eagle and the 6 of the Simson proof, and the loading button. Did I just prove how little I know about Simsons?
