Default Different Artillery Holster

I've never seen one like this:

My militaria collection is dedicated to the memory of my Grandfather, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Dave Hill, Jr., wounded in action at The Assault of the Second Marine Division on Betio Island, Tarawa Atoll, 20-23 November, 1943.

And you never will..It's not for an Artillery. Artillery models were pretty much military and somewhat standardized although there are civilian holsters for it.

It was made for a Carbine. Civilian models are pretty much whatever the Saddler or customer could dream up. This seems to be a fairy unique period example of a Carbine carry case. My guess is German made.
