Rick, the last one I saw auctioned on eBay went for about $600-650.00 way out of my price range... but I think that is probably the range where this one will end up in my opinion.

Hi Rick! The Luger navy rear toggle/sight has never been easy to find, and by all accounts, almost impossible to fabricate, or reproduce... the only accurate reproduction navy rear toggles that I have ever encountered, have been built up and remachined standard P.08 toggles. No small feat in itself, As the slide, cross button, and retaining pin all have to be made from scratch! All of these small parts are almost impossible to find in any kind of unaltered condition. The real trick to making a navy toggle does not lie in the sight assembly alone, it would be most difficult to apply the checkering and knurling on the toggle knobs. This was done with a die and stamped on the originals in one shot.. maybe even both sides at once! This took some real high quality, fancy and accurate stuff to make it happen! One can verify the expense by looking at the new manufacture stainless P.08's... they are quite crude in the toggle area, as it is just too expensive to tool up for this operation... to my knowledge there are no high quality reproductions of the navy rear toggle/sight... and to be quite honest, I haven't even seen anybody try..as the cost to make any type of quantity (with the necessary quality) is just not cost effective.... also there is the matter of skill, while a lot of machinists can follow the print and fabricate the parts... few can make it look like a part that belongs on a luger.... So, it is definitly in the catch 22 catagory..... You may spend a lot of money to have someone tool up for them, and then get a part you can't even sell, much less break even on ..... just about every part on a standard luger falls into this type of equasion... $500 to $600 seems to be the fair price lately. I think just about every, if not all, navy toggles you see are original, maybe not always to the gun.. but original DWM, none the less! till...later...G.T.
