Default 1943 dated Luger Holster?

I have a 1943 dated black Luger holster, with a maker code that leads back to Robert Larsen.

Since 1942 is the last date on P.08's that I know of I have 2 assumptions. I am happy to be corrected on either.

1. Holster production continued into 1943 as some P.08's with 1942 dates were actually issued in 1943, so holster production continued accordingly.

2. Holster production continued into 1943 in order to provide replacement spares.

Finally, does anyone know what the last year date on P.08 holsters is? I mean, do 1945 dated holsters exist? I know all my Lugers will fit into P.38 holsters so maybe that played into the picture?

I believe Krieghoff lugers were produced up till 1945, so .....

Phoenix investment Arms, "Military Krieghoff Lugers bear serial numbers of one through five digits without any suffix. They began military production in 1935 with the "G" Code at serial number 1 and continued consecutively upward until approximately 13000 in early 1945."

Late production P.08s were produced by Mauser well into 1943. They were using up virtually all the parts in their inventory. Lots of examples around and documented in books.

I doubt that this is a Krieghoff holster. The Luftwaffe had their own inspectors and holsters were marked with the LWaA 2 stamp. Typically, Krieghoff holsters did not have a maker's mark.

Hope this helps.
