Default Holsters, What Do I Have?

Picked these up a few years back. Thoughts?
There are no markings on the brown one and it has a shoulder strap.
The black one has an acceptance stamp and says Leder Waren Werk Curt Vogel Cottbus
1938.
Thanks
Paul

Paul,

Your 2nd holster is of course a Luger holster.

Made by Curt Vogel, located in Cottbus in 1938. It's a military holster, with proof mark "Eagle/WaA94" which is all correct.

From what I can see it appears to be in good condition. I can't see the entire holster though in your photos. Is there by any chance another marking below the "eagle/WaA94", that looks like an "Eagle/M"?? (I've attached a photo showing what it looks like)

As long as no damage or repairs, it's a good WWII era luger holster.

Matt

Matt,
Thanks for the reply. I do not see any other markings below the acceptance mark.
Should I apply some Lanolin to the holster?
The brown holster came with a P38, Finnish perhaps?
A few more photos.

Thanks
Paul

A little lanolin is always good. On the bendable parts for sure...Hinge, top of belt loops, closure strap, top of the tool pouch & the lift strap. Don't apply any to the sueded undersides.

Well well, you learn something new every day. After perusing this section of the forums I learned what that flap was on the inside top of the holster. Low and behold when I opened mine I found the loader tool! A bit rusty at the tip but not to bad! Soaking in CLP now.
Matt that is a heck of a commute to work.

Schutzen-jager,
Could be, I'll have to do some looking. I should mention that it has a shoulder strap and is a soft style holster.

Paul,

I'd take Jerry's advice on the holster.

Yes, I have a long commute to work, but it's very rewarding and enjoyable!
And I get 60 days off when I get home!
