Default Model 1900 recoil spring

It appears that after 100 years of very heavy use, the recoil spring in my Model 1900 American Eagle no longer has the 'poop' to completely chamber rounds. Is there a source for replacements for these flat recoil springs? Are they stamped, serial# or otherwise? I have seen mention of having to 'tune' replacement recoil springs for the later (coil) models, is this necessary for the flat springs as well?
