Default Artillery Luger leather furniture

Hi,

finally picked up a rig for my 1916 DWM. Any input would be appreciated as this is my first rig and my knowledge is limited on these. It is pretty obvious that the bottom leather strap is a replacement. I have no idea about the stampings on the wood and leather??? Is this a decent rig or not.

Thanks very much!

Appears to be 100% original. Very nice find.

Hi Van,

Can you tell us what the ink mark says in the flap? Please type it exactly as it appears, periods, etc. It is a Regimental mark, but I can't quite make it out in your photo.

Ron

Thanks guys! Ron....I really can't make out the markings on the leather...here is a magnified shot. It looks like LTLF.A.L.10. The L right in front of the 10 kind of looks like it is superimposed over a G or 6 ???

What does it mean?

Best Regards and thanks again!

No sign of refinish or touchups. Good strawing.

Van,

A very nice Artillery!

The mark translates to:

Landwehr Battalion 1. Landwehr Field Artillery Regiment 10.

Pat,

Yes I know the bottom strap on the holster is a replacement (see my initial post).

Thanks,
