Let's see, 18 guns X about $1000 each = $50,000?

Agreed. At an average of $2,777 each, with a wide disparity in condition, plus shipping and whatever additional costs involved, this is a little optimistic on the seller's part.

I don't know Luger very much. Are these unit marked guns averagely $1000 in today's market? A little bit surprised. Visited a local store two days ago, even CAI imported Russian M44 has tripled in asking price (it's a $300+ rifle now). And, a regular Interarms Luger is listed at $2495 !! (or $2450, I cannot remember clearly).
If selling unit marked Luger at $1k, probably better keep it... equivalent of three M44 MN rfiles. |

Hi Alvin, $2,000.00 each would be a closer estimate if they are in decent condition as they seem to be. The observation balloon battalion marked gun would be worth more, and a "1907 German Army Test Trials pistol" considerably more. As I recall the Danzig trials were held in 1902 or '03 (I'm away from my reference books right now), so this gun in particular should be gone over very carefully.

Steve:
Keep youir eyes open, they are out there. And $1000 is, admittedly, a bit low. I just refuse to pay more for that "rare" stamp. But cheer up, we know where you can buy them en masse for only $2777 each. dju |

What I really don't understand is this: this collection is NOT inherited. It might take him 30 to 40 years to find all those Lugers (how do I know? he implied that he joined more than 100 gun shows in the description), why must a collection built in 30-40 years go in a single auction session...
==== Averagely, he found one gun in 5.5 shows. The successful rate is high. Or the shows in Oregon are big ones. The shows over here are very boring. Many tables selling "tactical flashlight". I have never found any guns that I am looking for in local shows. |

Alvin a regular interarms Luger at 2,400 is a little too steep, they are usually priced at 1,500 w/ the box and papers.....you cannot go on ANY internet prices. They just don't count as valid.

I have been looking at some on Simpsonsltd web page. In the DWM luger section they have a good bit of company mark lugers. And they do range around $1500 to $2000 for the most part. There are some a little cheaper. But no $1000 ones.

There is an exception, if the pistol is not on the AG approved list, but it has been in the state since .... God knows, certain date (probably decades ago?), it can be transferred within the state. I bet that Interarm Mauser was a "grandfather" pistol in this state, which can be legally transferred within the state without a C&R license (many people do not even know there is such a licence), so it demands some premium in this state. |
