Need I change a mag?

Hi!

There was a problem. After loading the mag of two cartridges, the recharge does not take place, the second one (the last cartridge does not end up, the bolt does not reach half.) Yesterday I loaded 6 cartridges into the magazine, clearly worked two shots and drove the third cartridge in a chamber.. As it was in the garage , I didn’t shoot more. I thought that the force of action is equal to the resistance force and the more cartridges the more strongly the shop spring pushes them. It seems like the luger mags from the factory were with the worst spring. Even the key was used for loading.

Is there a problem with the mag spring?

Any time a feeding issue appears, the recommendation is to try a magazine made by MecGar. In general, using MecGar magazines tends to decrease magazine-related issues. I have several Lugers that I shoot and always use a MecGar.

Most self loading pistol problems are feeding from worn out magazines and/or the wrong shape bullets (hollow points or scored bullets don't feed smoothly). The springs get old in any magazine, but lugers are really old, too. Also, you can end up blowing out the bottoms if they aren't metal. Do use a new magazine and MegGar's are easy to find and affordable.

The other secret is a firm grip. I you let your pistol rock back in your hands, you interfere with the inertial and momentum of the entire gun. You can expect a jam of you are casually popping off rounds.

I also suggest using a Mec-Gar mag. When I shoot a Luger, I only use Mec-Gar magazines. The original magazines are very old and the springs may not be strong enough now. The feed lips can also be bad.

Mac Cat is also correct about using a firm grip. The Luger action - as with ALL semi-auto pistols - requires resistance to work properly. Any tendency to cushion the recoil by allowing the hand to move rearward during recoil will cause a malfunction. Keep your wrist stiff.

Could be spring. First clean magazine well inside, and get the follower to move freely.
Try again.

My experience is that if you have internet in Russia you are in an area with the infrastructure to be able to order and receive goods internationally, absent info to the contrary I believe the advice to get a MecGar is sound.

Given the description of the problem, I'm not at all sure the magazine is the problem.
It could just as easily be a dirty pistol requiring lubrication, wrong or weak ammo, or even a dirty magazine that needs to be cleaned and lubed.

The advice to "get a Mecgar" is sound for sure; but not very practical given the location of the OP.
