Default Cleaning Luger holster

What would be a good method to restore a dried and scuffed 1917 Luger holster? I was thinking saddle soap but received warnings about it.
Thanks,
Ed

Hi Ed,
This is a question that gets asked frequently. To see these discussions click on "Search" at the top of this page, then type in "Holster preservation" in the space provided.

Thanks for the tip.
I'm just wondering if the cleaning is even advisable?

This is even discussed on page 54 of our LugerForum FAQ document. Just download it free from our site. Follow the FAQ link at the top of every page.

How does that FAQ download?
I entered "Holster Preservation" but zero results.

FAQ above - click, follow next link (that was the easist way for me to get the links to work)

Then click on it, you should be able to download the PDF - if you don't know how to do that, please do a google search and that will help

In the search (here on the forum) - I did holster preservation and came up with pages of info

Guys, just to give you an update:
I did treat the holster sparingly with saddle soap and an old tooth brush and it worked beautifully.
It looks really rejuvenated, it is not soft and mushy but still hard as it was before.
Thanks for all your input.
