Is it common on an alphabet commercial to have no serial number, full or partial, on the receiver?
Thanks Jack |

Jack, alphabet commercial lugers usually have an upright C/N commercial proof on the receiver, not the serial number. These usually appear in full only on the frame front and the bottom of the barrel.

Jack, You may also find the last 2 digits of the serial, stamped into the lug on the bottom of the receiver. TH

Thank you. Nothing there. After stripping it down all the way for a very good cleaning, the only things that I found that may not belong are the breechblock and the extractor. They are both numbered 33 and mine ends with a 17. The firing pin was also unnumbered which I am not sure if that was the case for these alphabet commercials. I need to hold a seance and ask Grandpa what the deal is with that breechblock and extractor as I can only vouch for this pistol for 46 years.
