LUGER TAKEDOWN...
I have read several times that one is to slide back the barrel assembly to release pressure on the take down lever and then to move it down and then remove the trigger plate.
Without knowing that I simply pulled back the toggle locking it into the "open position" and then proceeding to move the take down lever, trigger plate, and finally releasing the toggle and slidng it off the frame. Am I doing anything wrong or injurious to the gun by this method? |

Re: LUGER TAKEDOWN...
Bob, This is the method that I use also. It is easier that trying to hold the top back with one hand and using the other to remove TD lever & side plate.

Re: LUGER TAKEDOWN...
From my 45 days in the army, I just push the barrel slightly back on my leg or hand and pop the take down lever with my other hand.
I don't think you can hurt someting taking it apart if done reasonably gently... However, that one time I forced my Bolo Mauser putting it together, it sticks now.... Ed |
