Default $50,000 Krieghoff is back

Mentioned earlier in the "Some HK's" thread - it is back!

And this time the description has changed, a minor detail added - it *might* be engraved with AH's signature.

Wonder if he will take a gold plated M-1 carbine instead of cash? I hear they are *quite* the rage now.

It was listed April First - April Fools joke?

I'm tempted to take him on, sending him an email from an "unnamed famous Luger collector" looking for the second of a consecutive pair of AH signed Lugers that were presented to Alois Matzelberger in 1938 by AH himself. Alois Matzelberger is better known as Alois Hitler Jr. - Hitler's half Brother who ran a Bierstube in the Wittenbergplatz in Berlin's fashionable West End during the war, and frequented by Nazi party officials. If it were the second of the pair together they might be worth half a million.

It truly is one of a kind. It's the only one he has. And most probably will be keeping...

Hey - maybe I should seel all my HKs with a "2 proof"??...

...* Please note I have been reasearching krieghoffs for that long, and in my opinon, originals that are unaltered ,no matter what their rateing is condition wise is are grossely undervalued in todays market place. *

I'm thinking this guy needs BOTH a dictionary and a good HK reference book...

But - what do I know??

Couldnâ??t help myself â?? I had to send the seller an email asking for more details and for detailed photos.

The seller first responded that he (or she as the case might be) would get the photos this weekend. I gave some details of what I was looking for.

Then the seller sent me this:

Quote:
Before I go to all the trouble of takeing photographs
for you, I need to know what you are looking for.
And Iâ??m thinking- a $50,000 artifact and she canâ??t be troubled to take some shots? So I sent a terse but polite note reminding her that she is the self-described 35 year expert in Krieghoffâ??s and should know what I am looking for.

About an hour later the auction is closed and I get this note:

Quote:
I have decided to take the post down for now,to
complete the book i am working on. After I publish the
book on this Krieghoff, you can purchase a copy,or
not,and answer the questions you have.
I can't wait.
