1900 A&E Test gun

Is there an area on a 1900 test gun that is expected to be not blued or even perhaps white???
A friend was trying to tell me in one certain area that if it was blued it meant that the gun had been re-blued. My gun doesn't appear to me to have been re-blued but it is blue in the area he points out as the area that shouldn't be blued.

If you mean under the safety, then yes, your friend is right.

I believe the interior should be in the white.

White from what source? How can a gray metal surface be white? Not trying to be smart-just uninformed.
My but you guys are good with the answers.

Disassemble the gun and the interior should be in the white i.e. unfinished.

Just look externally, .... white area?

How about the muzzle. The muzzle crown is NOT supposed being blued.

If the blue on muzzle is cold blue, I would think it's OK. Have more close-up? including the area under the thumb safety level? That area is supposed being "white" as well. It looks pretty dark on the pix.... dark patina or blued? Blued under safety is not good news.

It appears that the unusual bluing, etc. might relate to the fact that the gun (which several people on lugerforum.com concluded last year was an authentic test gun) was re-worked at some time because of the fact that it has as set of numbered parts which are different including the grips but they are matching unto themselves. And that at the time that work was done some other minor things were done, too. The inside all looks good and no signs of bluing in there. Apparently some of the test guns group have a small set of parts which are similar to mine as that they are a set unto themselves. That's the best that we can determine at this point.
