This is just to introduce myself. Some of you may remember my few posts on the old Luger Forum as "Steve". I have a 6" AIMCO year 2000 manufacture. I think that I have the kinks out of it and like shooting it. I only wish that I was as accurate as the gun appears to be!

I also hope that we can keep this forum civil [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Do they make those with adjustable sights? Man, that sure would be the ticket.

I am pretty new to the hobby of Lugers. I just have one shooter. We have a local buy sell trade magazine here.There are a pair of Stoger Lugers one 4 inch one 6 inch navy stainless new in the box $500 each.Is this a good deal? Anyone else interested?

I was back home 5 or 6 years ago, maybe longer and saw the Stainless Luger in a gunshop, I said, I need one of those!

They are awful pretty and felt good in my hand.

Just an addendum: I have two Mitchell stainless Lugers that take standard magazines. In fact, back when, I picked up an extra Mitchell magazine for my other Lugers, they're pretty nice.

I have a Stoeger Luger. It takes a non-standard magazine, so watch out for this point. You can only use the Stoeger magazine. I think Stoeger's "Luger" logo detracts from the appearance of the pistol.

I have no knowledge of what the post Stoeger AIMCO lugers use for magazines.

The price of the used ones sounds good to me. I have the following prices as of Dec 2000 for NEW. 4" Stainless $695.00; 6" Stainless $725.00; 4" Black on Stainless $795.00; 6" Black on Stainless $825.00; 4.75" .30cal Black on Stainless $975.00; .30cal Stainless $895.00. With the black finish it would be interesting to change the parts that are strawed on the originals for bright stainless parts. Perhaps it could be ordered that way?

In March I was told by Mr. Romo (president of the company) that a .45cal was 12-18 months away. I was also told that an 8" model is available for $1295 with a 6-8 week delivery time. I do not know what sights are on it and it obviously would not take a shoulder stock.

I hope that this helps to provide some information for people to base decisions on.

Nice! I only wish mine had a stainless steel loading tool. It came with the plastic version and I bought a metal one from Sarco. I just think a stainless one would make a better set.

Hi! I'm new to the forum. I own several guns, but no Lugers. I've always liked the new stainless steel ones,and have calling some local gun stores asking about buying a brand new one. They've been telling me they haven't been made for the last few years, some have never even heard of them. From what some of guys are saying it sounds like the guns are still being made. If they are shouldn't a gun store or stores,one of which has been in the buisness for over 30 years, be able to order me one?

I have a 6" Navy version by Stoeger. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cast inverted checkering on the toggle, mag release and take down. Here's a pic with the CMR Navy rig. I still haven't figured out how to attach the rig to a belt. If anyone has a picture as to how it is attached I would appreciate it. Here's a pic

I got a checkering file from Brownells and fixed the checkering on the toggle, mag release and take down. I think it looks much better now. If only I could figure out how to do the knurling around the toggle I would be set. Here's a close-up of the areas I modified.

It's a very accurate shooter with the white box Winchester ammo.

You might check with Hugh Clark. I think that Thor mentioned a couple of months ago that Hugh was working on the methods to properly checker or re-checker toggle knobs...

Also, the Navy Holster was designed to be attached to the Navy Shoulder Stock. I am not sure about this and maybe you should ask the question on the Navy Lugers Forum... but I beleive that when the holster was worn on the belt, the belt actually passed between the holster and the shoulder stock... The guys on the Navy forum would be sure to know...

BTW, your photos are the best of the stainless Lugers I have ever seen posted here. I have added them to my Luger photo collection.

These guns are still being made. There is also a rumor that they are in the process of engineering a .45 caliber version! Many member do not like the Stainless Steel version of the Luger... I AM NOT AMONG THEM.

I would recommend that you order it yourself and then get your local shop to receive it for you...

The contact information for AIMCO in Houston on the Links & Resources link at the Lugerforum.com homepage is current. They are hard to get a hold of, but their customer service is praised by most who buy them...

Since your SS Lugers are no longer NIB, you should contact Hugh Clark about recheckering your grips (that appear to have been sanded to fit the frame) to be shaped and checkered all the way to the edge... Hugh does great checkering work...

Hi Guys,
I'm new here too. I posted a few times over at the other place, but did not get into it because I did not have a Luger!!! Well I do now. It's a stainless Mitchell Arms American Eagle dated 1993. Not sure how it shoots yet. I'm planning to take it to the range soon. Any comments on ammo selection??? I remember reading on the old board about some brands not working in Lugers. The "hot" ammo debate. Any suggestions. My friend Mark M has used PMP with great success, but sadly, it is no longer available!!! Anyone here use S&B??? It works in all my other 9mm pistols!!! I'm very pleased to see that the Luger Forum is again up and running.My greetings to all who have endured my (stealth) presence in previous years.I have yet to understand how this "new" format works.Please bear with me! I like Aimco's Pistolle Parabellum since the design changes of 1999(?).The "Mitchell Arms" does require a special diet.Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.

Very nice, I like the Stainless Lugers myself, although I don't have one!

I imagine that any of the name brand ammo would work well. The Winchester and others can be had at Walmat for a good price and fire great in my old guns, so I imagine anything that is round nosed should fire fine, but you never know. I shot my 1906 the other day and it jamed up alot until I switched to one of the Mecgar mags I got from Doug a while back [img]wink.gif[/img]
