Default imperial P08 pistols 1914-1918

Any thoughts what a DWM collection of 1914-1918 would be worth? they are all original, 90-95%, two have matching serial number magazines. Thanks. JC. Total 5 guns.

John, A little or more details will be required. Your question is too open ended for anyone to intelligently respond. a DWM collection? One? a hundred pistols? Army, Police, Navy, Artillery? YOU have to do YOUR part too...

Wow! We have absolutely nothing to go on. How many guns, what type are they, etc, etc. Without pictures we are like the blind man trying to describe an elephant.

If they’re common 4” army pistols, and really are in correct original +90% finish and matching numbers, I would figure an average of $1500 per gun. If you have one of each year from 1914-1918, you would have five guns with average total value of $7500. Obviously, unit marks, police modifications, accessories, matching magazines, original finish vs. refinish, etc. all affect value.

As everyone has already said, without photos or better descriptions, it’s kind of a crap shoot to guess what you have.

Post photos.

A proper matching mag will add value. Also, some may pay more for a year with a lower production run.

Thanks. They are 5 total P08's. I was wondering if there would be added interest as they are the the 5 imperial Lugers. As a complete collection could they be worth more ?

No. Your "collection" is worth the sum of it's parts.

Basically your question is the same as, "how much are 5 yellow cars worth". A great deal more information is needed to give accurate market values. Anything else is just a guess, and probably incorrect.

They do represent the imperial time and WWI. to compare them to "5 yellow cars " is somewhat silly.

Please,
if you want serious answers, give some serious details(pictures)
of your lugers.

I seriously doubt that having the group of 5 increases the value at all; unless they have some other attribute, like the same serial number, or are marked to the same unit.

The comment points out the futility of trying to answer your original question as asked.

Each Luger must be evaluated individually and the ONLY way for anyone to properly assign a potential value is to see clear, detailed pictures of each Luger from numerous angles. In addition, bore condition and internal serial numbers matter.

The members here are as knowledgeable as you'll find anywhere WRT Lugers. They are not, however, magicians. To evaluate your Lugers, they require information that you have not provided.

Until you provide sharp, clear and detailed pictures of each Luger, no one here can help you. We're willing to help but you must do your part in order to receive the help you want.

Also, do not expect the group to have any extra value as a group. Unless there is some common detail, they will each be valued on their own.

Now, if you have one from each year, and all were marked as being issued to the same unit, then you'd have something. Maybe.

Even then, you'd have to find the collector who wanted a set such as that.
