Strange Stampings on Left Side
http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=36596017
This is a S42, 1936, all matching. But...there are a series of 8 circular marks next to the SN and it also appears to have an "a" stamped next to it as well. Meaning???? Rework by the Russians? |

I stand subject to correction by those more knowledgable.......but I believe these to be an East German rework mark, I don't know about the "a", unless there is an "a" underneath the SN on the front of the frame, and they decided to add one to the SN on the receiver!

Harry,
Hugh is correct. I think the "Daisies" are VOPO stamps( DDR police). They are East German. Ron

The 'Daisies' are most likely some sort of attempt to obliterate the marking below it. There was most probably a DDR police mark below it.
