I was told at a gun show that a tool that did not have the offset cut in the hole was a fake. This one looks like it was drilled instead of stamped,am I right or wrong? He mentions he has other ww2 reproductions for sale at the end of his description. thanks clint

I believe you are correct about the offset hole. The E-bay seller mentions that he has "other" repro tools, implying clearly that this one is a repro also.

He says"Email me for my web site with other WWII reproductions and hard to find originals." Which leaves it up in the air,if its a repop I wish he would just state that fact. clint

Clint, I have never seen a Waffenamt Mark like that on any original tool. I would vote for a FAKE!!!

Hi,
I agree, the thickness of the tool is way off as well. Normal tools are some 2.5mm thick. This one seems to be a good 3mm thick. About the hole, there are examples known of 'collectors' who mistook the small edge for a production error and filed it away ![]() This one is, without much doubt, as fake it gets. |
