Default New Collector

I recently inherited a 1940 Luger in near perfect condition with two magazine clips and boxes and boxes of ammo. I am trying to find out as much as possible about my new hobby. I there a book about WWII luger for a new collector to help me answer questions and gain info.

Jan Still's Third Reich Lugers, get it through AMAZON.COM or from Jan directly (he will autograph it if you ask nicely). See his website at http://www.alaska.net/~jcstill/

Have fun and enjoy your new found Luger! Ted

Don't forget to check out the 'Links & Resources' section right here in this forum. Actually this forum is kind of a 'one stop shop' for the Luger enthusiast, great for tips, identification, parts and resources, dealers of fine firearms, etc.

Congratulations on the new Luger you inherited. These are really fine pistols and a joy to shoot. If you do plan on shooting the pistols, remember to take good care of it, as they do have a tremendous amount of historical value and history.

In addition to Jan Still's book, which is one of the best on the market, you can look at the "Technical Information" section of this Forum and get copies of the Luger Data Sheets. These can be printed oof and you can fill-in the information on your pistols and anyone should be able to give you an exact description and you can keep this for your insurance records in case anything happens to the pistols. Please keep coming back to the Forum and welcome to this great group of guys (maybe we can get some gladies on board some time too, ha, ha).
