WW1 Luger Holster Green Canvas (Ersatz)
Would anyone have photos and details on the early WW1 Ersatz light-green Canvas holster with brown leather edging. I am currently doing some research in to these and would like some further information if available. Many thanks!

Charles, The only WW1 "holsters" that I'm familiar with of this description, are for the trommel magazine (snail drum). TH

Charles, Tom..Actually these were thought to be fake for years untill George Anderson came by a period photo of a German Soldier wearing one. He and I think maybe Mauro have photo's and what's believed to be an original holster.

Charles a fellow collector in Italy has such a holster as well as a period photo of one being worn by a German NCO in the field. I believe you will find photos of both the holster and photo on Jan Still's Luger Forum. It was that collector in Italy who first came across the photo.

Tom, Jerry & George - Many thanks for your response. I will take a look at Jan Stills Forum/website and drop Mauro an email as well. I do happen to have an illustration of the Ersatz Canvas Luger Holster as well as a b&w photo of soldiers wearing them. I'd like to to see the inside of one as well as the colour I believe the canvas was a light green but not apsolutely sure though. Charles

Charles, Mauro is not the owner of the holster or photo. It's another Italian collector.
