Commercial Krieghoff?

I just got this gun from Mike Morris. Needless to say, he is a great person and has become a good friend of mine.
Anyway, I thought I share some of the peculiarities of this gun with you. It is a commercial DWM model 7.65 with the Crown/N, which by the way, it is larger than the commercial export proof usually seen. The crown has a cross above it, just like the commercial export, but the crown itself is different than the usual commercial export crown. It is elongated just like the early Krieghoff Commercial Crown/N. It is also marked with Krieghoff E/2 proof on the right side and under the barrel. The Stark magazine (Stark & Sohne Maschinenfabrik 1923-1935) has an E/46 (Simson proof only used in 1934). The other mag is a Schmeisser mag with E/2 proof and with the numbers up-side down. Both mags are numbered to gun as you can see, but different size character. Most of my information was obtained from comparing to other guns and a couple of books. Please correct me or enlighten me with your expertise. Does someone else have something similar to this Luger? Can anyone speculate the year of production?

Dear Tony, Nice Krieghoff rework. Does this piece bear the "Krieghoff Suhl" stamp on the rear of the frame and is the suffix, if any, in the "i" series?

This STARK stamp has come up in a question once previously... but I don't have time to search for it... IIRC, No one had an answer about the origin of this mark...

It WAS a long time ago... anyone have a reference for this mark now?

Walter (1986) discusses this mark. He reports the Stark & S�¶hn Maschinenfabrik reference from Costanzo. He also notes that Stark means "strong" in German, that there was no listing for Stark & S�¶hn in the wartime codelists, and then goes on to guess that it is "much more probable" that it was applied to reinforced or improved Haenel magazine.

Hi,

Found a reference code 'cob' for:

Netzschkauer Maschinenfabrik, Stark u. Soehne, Netzschkau, Saxony

The company still exists and is now called
"NEMA AirFin GmbH".

An interesting bit in their company history reveals that in 1934 they sold heating and ventilation systems to some arms manufacturors. Not unlikely that they tried to get a contract for producing magazine tubes.

Herbert,
The gun does not have the "Krieghoff Suhl" stamp or a suffix at all. The serial numbers were placed in the commercial method. The only other mark is a vertical C/N on the left side of the breech block.
