Re: 30's
Dave,
I have a manual that came with a DWM Model 1920 that is in near to mint condition. The manual has no date but it is in German. The actual numbers for the 7.65 Parabellum cartridge in this manual are 10.5 g for the bullet, 368 m/s for the velocity, and 41.4 m/kg for the energy from a 96 mm barrel. Effective range is claimed to be 350 m and maximum range is claimed to be 1500 m. The units for energy are a bit obscure as we are used to force times distance, not distance divided by mass. It makes no mention of the 9 mm cartridge or caliber. As a side issue, there was about half a box of Winchester hollow points in a red waxed box labeled non-mercuric primers. Any guesses as to the age? unspellable |
