I just picked up an artillery luger dated 1918 and 1920 and have a question about the proof acceptance marks on the right side- my understanding is that there should be three crown over gothic letters and the DWM proof- mine has only one crown over gothic letter (either G or T) and the DWM reichsadler. AM I incorrect in thinking there should be three?

No. Many 1918 Artilleries lack the additional stamps. It's probably due to their having been finished in the very last days of 1918.

Also a photo of the date on the chamber would be helpful, as if the date is in the 1918/20 format, your pistol may be 1918 made parts not assembled until 1920. TH
