A friend has 2 of these luger magazine bodys that are cut straight on the bottom. They are the same length has a normal tube. Any ideas on what they are? Thanks DAvid

David,
A very interesting magzine tube indeed. I have not seen one exactly like it... Can you post a photo of the other side? and of the spine and top? And is the tube extruded like an FXO mag? or stamped and folded like most Luger mags?

additional picture, I just noticed that the fold areas on each side are not similar to a normal magazine. The spines are similar.

Very interesting David. Does the magazine actually fit into a Luger? If so, can you take a photo of the magazine fully inserted into the grip frame so it shows how much actually sticks out?
Wait a minute... it just occured to me that this might be the magazine tube for the Swedish or Finnish Lahti... Let me see if I can find a photo of one. Please answer my questions in the mean time.

Nope.... well at least not Finnish Lahti mag tubes... there is no side rib on them.
I will look for photos of the Swedish type... to see if they are the same as the Finnish.

John, Before I take a picture I can tell you that the magazine fits flush with the bottom of the luger and locks in as it should. David

David, You will note that this tube has a hole at the rear for the bottom pin, like the early extruded Schmeisser mags. I do have a couple of unmarked (I belive post WW2 repro) aluminum bottoms for this type of body @$15 each. As I recall, they came off of some old style triple K mags. TH
