Well, I wouldn't send it to a restorer. It looks OK as is for a shooter. Somebody likes it. It has 28 bids as of this writing and is going for a little under $700.
Once I bought a Luger like this. It had a Russian extractor and an original mag. Somebody stuck some really cool Bavarian style home made grips and the front of the barrel has a hood over it. The local police engraved a serial number on the front of the frame so that it could be registered in Michigan. There is a small amount of engraving on it. One of these days I am going to figure if it is a 30 cal or a 9mm and have some fun with it.
Remember, not all Lugers are collectible. But they all are fun to shoot.

Seeing that abomination is enough to make a grown man cry.

Talking

Being new to all this it even makes my eyes hurt.

It's the Frankenstein of Lugers.

Qualifies for a "Pimp my Luger" show. LOL

..wasn't there a similar flurry of frantic bidding on this last spring? I know, cause I jumped in and brought it up to about $237.50.
