Default Maine Gunlaws

I just need some information if anyone can help. I am originally from the US but have been living overseas for quite a while. I find myself in a situation that I may have to move back to the US. While I am originally from the midwest, the north east of the US is where I will have to relocate to. I don't want to get into a Mass. type situation as far as gun ownership is involved. I have always been partial to Maine, so that will be my first choice. of relocation. Is anyone framiliar with the gun laws there and can they give me general overview of them. All help appreciated.
Thanks,
Chip

Fazer, you should definitely consider New Hampshire if that is a possibility. They have the most open gun laws.

Both Maine and VT have good gun laws(stay far away for MYC and NJ or as we call it PSRNJ !) but when deciding on where to live in the northeast we chose NH.C&R FFL and concealed carry both easy to get, open carry legal and lots of gun companies have factories here. Also seems to have best economy of New England.
