Vietnam...Army, for me. It's kind of ironic that the place I dreaded to go to and swore I would never return to, is now trying to be a showplace of tourism! Also ironic (and disgusting) is the simple fact that the "average"..at least ones that I query, twenty and thirty year olds have no idea if the significance of November 11th. They guess anywhere from the end of the Civil War to the end of World War 2! How surprised they are to hear from me that the Great War ended on that date. Then I have to explain to them what the Great War was!!!

A sadly inadequate but heartfelt thanks to all who have served, now and through this countries history, from this grateful patriot/citizen. May you all live long in the Halls of Valhalla, or where ever your Gods special place for Warriors might be....

My flag was put up at 8:00am this morning and will fly till Monday night when I take it down. At night a spotlight shines on it till the morning light.

To all who served, in war or peace.
I give my humble thanks.

You are the ones who know the true price of freedom.

An important day to Honor our Veterans..... today's and future Veterans as well...They will return from Afganistan and Iraq. Little enough for what many have given.

Eleventh hour, eleventh day eleventh month. A great opportunity given western civilization to actually end OUR wars but washed away by the vengeful greed of France and England. Too bad.

Not quite an X 11th Month not "year" And we were not all that innocent in the outcome. Wilson was shot down not only by the other countries but by House, Senate, and an "isolationist" society. So we shouldn't point any fingers!

The period between 1913 and 1933 was one of the most interesting and complex in World History!

The War was the first World War. It was not ended by some great Victory but by a virus! (Spanish Flu)

Treaty of Versilles. Was more about revenge then "greed" There was no monetary gain in chopping Germany into smaller countries.

Changes in society where staggering! The fall of Monarchies, and the rise of fascism, and communism.

We all remember what a mess the Economy was!
