Bullseye for Lugers

Has anyone used Bullseye for their Luger? I have 125gr homemade leads. 3.3gr works in my HI Power but not in my Luger, but 3.6 works good and not too hot. Looking for a few comments.

Bullseye is a pretty fast burning powder for a Luger....something like Unique or AA#5 or AA#7 would be a better route to go.

Hi:

Bullseye is fast and requires light charges to function your Luger properly.

My accuracy load is 3.7 gr with a 124 or 125 gr bullet. This is a nice light load and will not hurt you Luger.

My best powder with lead bullets has been AA#5. With fmj bullets SR4756 or Power Pistol are highly accurate.

Lugers "like" medium burn rate powders.

I have not tried Bullseye in my 9mm Luger loads, but have used both Red Dot(very similar to BE) and Bullseye in my 30 Luger loads with FMJ and lead bullets with excellent results. Sounds as though you found a load that allows your Luger to cycle, which is great to find.

For my 9mm loads, I usually utilize Unique, or Power Pistol, and have been pleased with the results.

I went down to 3.5 gr. Bullseye and that still worked good. Don't want to stress out my baby (G Date)

Hi:

If 3.5 will cycle a fully loaded 8 round magazine, go for it!!!

Most Luger reloaders attempt to find the softest load that is accurate and will reliably cycle their Luger. I use that Bullseye load (3.5gr)with 200gr PRN in 45ACP and it does wonderfully in my old 1911, and 1911A1s.
