God is the miracle worker, not me, I just do the best I can with what He gives me.

Ted,
I'm speechless. As I told on Jan Still's forum, it is the true meaning of word "ressurection."
It's a born again Luger - kind of job that is a perfect business card.
Congratulations!
Douglas

I do have some experience in metal work & I'm having a hard time comprehending how someone could do that with this pistol.

It is so funny the reactions I get when the client gets his gun back. Sometimes, I have guys tell me their wives accuse them of trading their old Luger for a new one. Or a few times they have said, I didnt expect it to look so new, now I am afraid to shoot it! I think to myself, "What did you expect, for me not to do a great job" Too funny!

I've seen the same thing happen with collector cars. After they restore them they are afraid to drive them.

By the way Thor, where did you learn how to do this with guns? How long did it take you to build these kinds of skills up?

I was mentored over the internet by the late Bill Adair from Texas. I have had not formal training in gunsmithing other that the tips Bill gave me. God has given me the wisdom and abilities and I give him 100% of the credit. Bill was kind to me and I never understood why. After I got started he used to send me really bad Broomhandles to work on. I traded him metal work for proof and markings restoration that he did by engraving. I now work with a SUPERB Christian brother that has been trained by French Master Engravers. He has done many guns for the American Handgunner Magazine annual raffels. He has also done a gun for President Bush. I have also had the great gifts and pleasure to be teamed with many artisans from the forum. Their work makes mine look WAY better. I am truly blessed beyond anything I could EVER earn.

I met Justice Thurgood Marchall at the faculty betroom at the innaugeration of Seton Hall School while washing our hands in 1978 I asked Him if he hashad any words of wisdom for a first year law student. He gave me three, first, Don't try to out run your own shaddow! Two, If you can't make a point in two words or less its you missing your own point. Finally and most importantly, renew your oath to God and you spouse every day.... I guess two out of three isn't too bad!!

The hands of a man that can do such work are truly a gift from God. Absolutely beautiful work Ted, well done.

Just posted this one on my facebook page, forgot how much work it was. But it was worth it. Very happy with the finished Luger.

This is the message from hughscpa in my inbox this morning.
"I just looked through the thread on the Double Date DWM. I know that the thread was closed but I felt another comment could not hurt. WOW!!!! Amazing work sir. The gifts you have been blessed with are unbelievable. I enjoy looking at your work and it has inspired me to attempt some of my own projects. Keep up the good work."
I then checked and it was indeed closed. I reopened it (I am a moderator on this section) and posted my post.

Can't say. I have no clue why any mod would close it.
