SUCCESS!

I have finally managed to get the gun apart!

It has been laying in diesel for 3 weeks and then I heated it and pounded the hell out of it. I will post pictures later, but it actually looks pretty good inside, not much rust at all.

As promised some pictures of my now fully moving and working(well apart from the safety) P08. The last picture is the bullet that was highest up in the mag, not drilled thru...

I have ordered some new made grips and a used mag, still need some new springs, screws for the grip and a safety lever.

And it even strips! Wow, free'd up pretty well actually, that'll look great hanging on the wall!

That's some really impressive work, it will make a great conversation piece once you get it fixed with new springs and a set of grips! I thought this project was crazy, but yours is definitely worse... http://skytteforum.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=18027

02tobbe -

Congratulations on doing such a nice job!

Regarding this statement: "The last picture is the bullet that was highest up in the mag, not drilled thru..."

As a suggestion, it would probably be a lot safer to use an inertial bullet puller to pull that bullet, rather than drilling a hole in the case when there is still powder in it. After all, that is still a live round. Just a thought. Okay? (Or maybe I just misunderstood what you were saying.)

Good Job!! You had a real task before you, and it looks like you won. BTW, it does look like a Mauser hump.
