Simpson's : label inside 800 cross-out and 700 new add
Actualy on ebay.fr
Ebay.fr in 06.2013
One I see in 2009 with the label inside 700
Other with label 700 on top cover
Mine
From a collector in Toulon naval base , about 6 or 7 , selling on the docks in the years 1980 : nobody was interested by that !!

A WWI Luger 16rd ammo packet measures 8.5 x 3 x 2 cm.
Listing on French EBay states the boxes dimensions as 23 x 16 x 9 cm. (Presume these are external measurements) so theoretically room enough for 50 packets (800rd). 700rd is weird in packet terms as divided by 16 it equals 43.75 packets. Maybe the 700 were packed loose.

That's hold 14 box of 50 cartridges : I just try to put them inside easely .
