Default 1906 Navy Question

My nephew has spotted a 1906 Navy at a hunting/ sporting goods shop near him and I'm trying to figure out if it is worth looking into. The serial number is 68xxa and the price is $2900 with stock (no holster). Apparently the shop owner is ill and they are selling some of his collection. If this a good price what are the important questions to ask when I call? I know little about Navies except that they a frequently faked. There are no pictures available.

Tom, Without photo's or some other form of inspection there is no way in Denver you are going to know what you have.
Navy stocks are extremely rare and expensive. Original Navy stocks.

If you call... all you will get is BS in my opinion. Unless the person on the other end is a Navy expert or a disinterested party or both.

Navy pistols are both a science and an art form. Looking at one over the phone is going to be frustrating as phone sex.

One good picture is worth a thousand words and even that might not do you any good.

Good 06 Navy starting at $6000
one original stock starting at 3000+

one phone call to a niece of the ill gunsmith= bubkus.

Better send someone there with a camera...

The former paratrooper has told it straight. Buying a Navy without seeing it is akin to getting a mail order bride.
